Metro Art Presents: Fil…Mmm At Union Station – The Harvey Girls

Union Station North Patio

June 15, 2018 from 8:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Metro Art is pleased to present “The Harvey Girls: Opportunity Bound,” (2013, 57 min, Dir. Katrina Parks) as the first installment of our food film series, “Fil…mmm at Union Station.”

Various food trucks will be available throughout the event including: Comet BBQ, Pinch of Flavor and Nitropod.

“The Harvey Girls: Opportunity Bound,” is a historical documentary that explores how over 100,000 brave young women made the journey west to work as waitresses along the railroad. The film features many of the famed Fred Harvey restaurants designed by architect Mary Colter, one of which was located at Union Station slated to open again as a gastropub in 2018. Director Katrina Parks will introduce the film and hold a Q&A with former “Harvey Girl” Hilda Velarde Salas following the film.
