Metro Art Presents: The Floor Improv Day One

June 3, 2018 from 2pm to 5pm

Experience the joy and magic of L.A.’s best artists coming together at the historic Union Station, to perform live and lead classes in diverse styles of dance, movement and music, culminating in the popular “The Floor Improv Jam!” From capoeira and flamenco, to tap and breakdance, this special series hosted by Metro Art Presents in collaboration with The Floor Improv Night showcases vibrant cultures from all over the world through music and dance.

This event is free and open to the public. No tickets or reservations required.

The Floor Improv Days kick off with The Red Line Horns, one of L.A.’s hottest brass sections. The program includes innovative percussionist Christian Moraga leading a workshop with instruments provided by Latin Percussion, and Korede “Snoopy” Sonupe demonstrating and teaching his unique style blending hip-hop, dancehall and movements inspired by dances from Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda and Kenya. Dancer Kati Hernandez will provide a lesson in Afro-Cuban dance forms.
