XAVELA LUX AETERNA toured internationally in 2019-20. The concert, originally scheduled for May 2020, will take place in Union Station’s historic Ticketing Hall.
Preferential seating will remain available for guests who require mobility accommodations. The venue is indoors, on one floor adjacent to the main entrance of Union Station, and is also wheelchair accessible.
Dorian Wood (b. 1975, Los Angeles pronouns: she/her/they/them) is a multi-disciplinary artist with a practice born from the desire to challenge traditions and systems that have contributed to the marginalization of people. Wood has performed at institutions, venues and festivals locally and internationally including The Broad, REDCAT, Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions, and Pacific Standard Time in Los Angeles as well extensively internationally in Spain at Museo Nacional Del Prado, World Pride, Festival Cruilla and the City Hall of Madrid, and in Mexico City and Germany. Wood has released over a dozen recordings and is a recipient of the Creative Capital Award, an Art Matters Foundation grant, and the Loghaven Artist Residency in Tennessee. From 2019 to 2020, Wood completed several successful international tours with their chamber orchestra tribute to Chavela Vargas, XAVELA LUX AETERNA.
