THE SHOW MUST GO ON! EVENT MOVED INDOORS TO HISTORIC TICKET CONCOURSE DUE TO RAIN
Holiday Craft Corner, Kids Zone, Confetti Sessions, Santa Selfies and Free Hot Chocolate Flowing from the Classic “Cocoa Bar”
Union Station will become a holiday hub on Thursday, November 29th at 6:30 p.m. as it summons the sights and sounds of the season with the Annual Tree Lighting in the historic Ticket Concourse accompanied by a performance from the Grand Arts Chamber Singers and The Los Angeles Symphonic Winds.
Featuring an elite group of student performers, the award-winning Grand Arts Chamber Singers hail from neighboring Ramon C. Cortines School of Visual and Performing Arts in DTLA. The Los Angeles Symphonic Winds are one of the country’s most acclaimed community ensembles comprised of many of L.A.’s most gifted musicians and have enchanted audiences with a diversity of musical styles for more than 35 years.
The event kicks off a month-long series of free “Cocoa Concerts” in collaboration with Metro Art Presents at the historic downtown destination throughout the holiday season (Thursday, November 29 and Fridays December 7, 14 & 21).
The festive, family friendly holiday celebration will transform the station into a winter wonderland featuring thousands of glistening lights surrounding a towering white Christmas tree, a “Cocoa Bar” with Elftenders, a Holiday Craft Zone for ginger bread house and ornament decoration, a Kids Zone with a Reindeer Toss and Snowball Slam, and selfies with Santa and the Snow Queen.
The famed Confetti Project (@the_confetti_project) will make an appearance with an immersive pop-up studio offering guest a unique opportunity to celebrate the season with their own personal photos session as they are doused in confetti.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. with the tree lighting slated for 7:15 p.m.
